We have a series of C# Pygmy 17's available with some cosmetic differences to its appearance. As you can see on the first picture and the closeup picture there are some spots that were burned in during the heating process. If you order this instrument it can be shipped within 1 - 3 business days. Please notice that the spots can be different than on the picture as we have a couple of them with similar spots. The spots are purely aesthetic and will not have any effect on the instruments tuning stability or longevity.
The C# Pygmy 17 is a very intuitive model, sharing the same simple layout as the C# Pygmy on the top side but with added range on the bottom side as well as filling up the gaps in the scale.
The model has all the notes of the F# minor scale, which you can play by starting on the F#3 (the first note of the circle. Therefore it shares many of the same notes and playing possibilities as the F# Low Pygmy models. However, because of the C#3 centre note, you add a bunch of possibilities in terms of moods and add a bit of depth on the low end.
A side note: the patina on most ember steel handpans is not stable and the instruments are likely to change colour. This does not affect the sound or tuning, it just creates a vintage look.
